Up and at 'em...

Mandi called this morning so excited... they put her on a regular diet so she now "can have food you actually have to chew"... she cracks me up... LOL!  By the time I arrived she had just about sucked down an entire egg and spinach omelet.  It has been over five days since she has had solid food on her stomach so eating that much so quickly made her feel like she was going to pop her staples.  Needless to say she didn't get hungry again until almost 4:30pm. Ha!  She had just gotten her meal when I had to leave.

She is feeling more like her old self, even the sarcasm is back.  She was watching television when a commercial for the Dugger's Show (19 and counting) getting ready to have baby #20 came on and she went on a verbal rampage about how they must have some kind of mental disease.  I just smiled and said, "Well she's back" speaking about Mandi, and she told me that was a hateful thing to say. LOL!

She did walk a lap while I was there but it just wipes her out.  She is also getting up by herself and taking herself to the bathroom when she needs to go.  The weekend doctor said that she was doing really great and that she would be discharged from the hospital tomorrow and will get to stay with me at the lodge Monday evening.  We will get ourselves packed up and be ready to head out at 9:30am Tuesday morning.

We are both so ready to come home.  We should land in Tulsa around 5pm Tuesday night and she will be back home by 5:30 or so.  I know the children miss her and will be glad to have her back home with them.  We are so thankful that my mama is able to be there with them when I have to travel with her.  It would be a miserable thing for her to have to do this on her own.  We see many patients here who have no one with them, just breaks my heart.

I might also say that Tristen and Shelbi love it when Great Grandma Sparkles stays with them because she buys all the yummy junk food that Mandi and I won't usually buy.  It is a real treat for them and helps take their mind off the constant worry over their mama.  Sort of like a party every day for them... LOL!  Mama also loves staying with them, she has enjoyed every minute with them she tells us.

Thank you all again for your continual prayers.  Please continue to pray for Loren's mama, Shirley.  She is back home with his brother Terrence and his wife Stefanie.  They did a scan on Shirley when she was in the hospital and the tumor on her ovary is growing and now there are two more with it.  She can't have surgery because of Pulmonary Embolism.  If that is corrected they could operate.  The doctor at the hospital has recommended the family call in hospice.  Shirley does have a relationship with the Great Physician so we are thankful for that.
