Progress...

I slept in a little this morning and then when I woke I dove right in to the Word.  After reading for about an hour I prayed and then put Chris Tomlin "See the Morning" CD on my laptop while I showered.  I drank my cup of detox tea and had a cup of coffee with a shot of espresso and then headed to the hospital.

Mandi made real good progress today.  She was awake most of the day and sitting up.  She even walked from the bed to a chair and back again.  She is experiencing nausea from the pain med's but until she no longer needs them that is what she will have to deal with. She told Dr. B today that this surgery is the best one yet, less painful then the other two.  Praise God, I know in my heart that is because of all the prayers that are continually being offered up for her.  Thank you all so much for praying with us.
Before I left this evening she even had me call home so she could talk to the children.  She was able to speak with Shelbi but Tristen was still at basketball practice.  I had to leave before he got home.
I got back to the lodge and had my one meal for the day and then came to my room.  I am beat tonight for some reason.  I will read a little more in the Word and pray then retire early.  Sweet... sweet sleep.

Jen called me today and left a message on my voicemail saying that everything went well. We are really happy that Mandi is doing well except for feeling the effects of the medication. We're hoping for a quick recovery. Love you guys,Marc & Jen...

  3. Thank you Marc and Jenny. I know Jen has been so concerned about Mandi and that she loves her cousin very much. We will have to have a family get together once Mandi feels a little better. She will be home from work healing for many weeks so anytime y'all are in town you can stop by for a visit. Love you both, Auntie Deb

  4. Tami, Mandi will get a kick out of your running comment... I will let her read it if she can focus today. The med's make it hard for her to do that. If not I will read it to her.
Isn't it funny how you can not see someone for weeks and just knowing they are only 45 minutes away makes it bearable. But that same person flies off to a state hundreds of miles away and suddenly that distance makes missing them almost unbearable.
Sometimes when I don't see you for weeks and weeks it feels as if you are hundreds of miles away. Mama
